Some curiosities about Blues Brothers

The Blues Brothers are an iconic musical band created by American comedians and actors John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. The band originated as a sketch on the popular television show "Saturday Night Live" in the 1970s, where Belushi and Aykroyd played the characters Jake and Elwood Blues, respectively.

The duo gained considerable popularity for their exhilarating live performances and their talent for playing the blues and rhythm and blues. In 1978, the Blues Brothers released their first album, "Briefcase Full of Blues", recorded live during a show in Los Angeles. The album included covers of blues and R&B classics.

The success of the first album led to the making of the cult film "The Blues Brothers" in 1980, directed by John Landis. The film marked the duo's cinematic debut and introduced numerous music stars such as James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway and Ray Charles.

The film was a critical and commercial success and helped cement the Blues Brothers' status as a pop culture icon. The duo has continued to perform live and release additional albums over the years, keeping their musical and comedic legacy alive.
