Some curiosities about the Doctor Hook group

Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, more commonly known as Dr. Hook, was an American rock band formed in 1967 in Union City, New Jersey. The band became known for their unique style of music that blended rock, country, and pop, as well as their theatrical and humorous stage performances.

The original lineup consisted of Ray Sawyer (vocals), Dennis Locorriere (vocals and guitar), George Cummings (guitar), Billy Francis (keyboards), Jance Garfat (bass) and Jay David (drums). The band achieved their first commercial success in 1972 with the song "Sylvia's Mother".

Dr. Hook's greatest success came in the 1970s with a string of hits, including "The Cover of 'Rolling Stone,'" "Sharing the Night Together," and "When You're in Love with a Beautiful Woman." The band was known for their rebellious spirit and catchy songs, which made them one of the most popular bands of their time.

Despite lineup changes over the years and the end of the commercial hit era in the 1980s, Dr. Hook continued to perform and record music well into the 1990s. Their music continues to be loved by fans around the world for its fun and infectious spirit.
